Swapping or selling products is a unique process because both sides need to agree on fair compensation in order for a sale or swap to be executed. It would therefore stand to reason that a seller/Swap would greatly benefit by reaching the maximum numbers of possible consumers and understanding the actual market value of their product. Other sites provide limited information on valuation and do not necessarily reflect the fact that a product may be priced at a certain pricing point, but may never sell at that pricing point. Our website uniquely offers consumers the ability to submit their products and have them valued by other consumers in a fashion that allows the real market value of that product to be established and honed over time. In addition our site serves to align possible trade partners that may live in close proximity as it is likely that the alignment of trade wants and needs between consumers will result in greater value and satisfaction level for both consumers. Whether SWAP Sneaker is utilized as a method for trading Sneakers, a method for valuing products, a supplement to other selling/trading means or any combination of the above, we are certain that our App can help merchants maximize the value of their sales/trades and minimize the time in which a sale/trade takes.
The creators of SWAP Sneaker have discovered that in many cases a product swap can result a much better value and satisfaction level for both consumers.
Scenario 1 (a perfect swap): As a hypothetical let us assume that one consumer has a new or lightly used $100 Nike shoe that they no longer in need and another user has a new or lightly used $100 Adidas shoe that they no longer in need. The person with the Nike’s wants to get rid of their shoes and wants to find a pare of Adidas while the person with the Adiads wants to get rid of their shoes and find a pare of Nike Shoes. Both consumers have discovered by posting their products in various marketplaces that the actual monetary value they can obtain is much lower than they want to sell their products for ($25 or less). SWAP Sneaker and its smart, interactive trading system could align these two candidates for a swap that would result in a perceived trade value for each user that is much higher and more satisfactory than the small monetary value they would have otherwise obtained by merely selling their products. Consumer 1 walks away with the Adidas Shoes that they wanted and Consumer 2 walks away with the Nike’s that they wanted rather than having to sell their pricey shoes for the cost of a dinner for two at a fast food restaurant.
Scenario 2 (trade + sell): As a hypothetical let us assume that one consumer posts new or lightly used $800 Yeezy’s that is users value at $400 based on its use, make and condition while a second consumer has a $630 Jordan first edition that users value at $310 based on its age, model and condition. The person with the Yeezy’s wants to get rid of them and wants to find a pare of Jordan’s while the person with the Jordan’s wants to get rid of them and find Yeezy’s. Both consumers have discovered by posting their products in various marketplaces that the actual monetary value they can obtain is much lower than they want to sell their product for and would not give them the desired amount of money towards buying the product that they want. SWAP Sneaker and its smart, interactive trading system could align these two candidates for a trade. Consumer 2 could agree to trade their Jordan’s and a cash value around the valuation difference to Consumer 1 in exchange for the Yeezy’s. Both consumers benefit because consumer gets the Jordan’s that they had wanted in addition to some extra money and consumer 2 gets unload a Shoe they no longer use in addition to a small cash amount (75-$90) and essentially end up with the nice Yeezy;s that they wanted for an amount of less than $100.
Other users are only able to see your username, profile image, additional information and zip code. Usernames are visible so that traders can be rated by users for the benefit of future traders. Also user names are used to report any False trades or mishandling of the application. Profile pictures, should you choose to supply one, are visible because we believe that a face-to-face trading can be a much more comfortable experience if someone can put a face with a name or product before a trade is orchestrated. The zip code is visible to allow other users to determine if a person-person trade is feasible based on distance and the comments section is made visible to allow users to share anything that they think may be beneficial for other users looking to value their products or align possible trades with them.
The safety of our system relies on the individual consumer and in many respects is no different than the online classified ads, online marketplaces and online auctions that consumers are used to dealing with. The most important tool consumers can utilize to protect themselves is common sense. For instance, it is suggested that consumers do not agree to accept checks or money orders. Users should also not give out personal information including credit card information, social security numbers or any other information that the consumer does not wish the public to have. Furthermore, it is suggested that consumers avoid mail trades that promise the return of a product and/or payment if the user first mails their product and/or payment unless a consumer has become familiar with that particular trading partner or feels comfortable taking that risk based on the inputs of past users who rated the trader. As with other online classified ads, marketplaces and auction sites, users can utilize common sense and caution to lower their risk level down to around zero.
The scope of any punishment resulting therefrom is case specific. In many cases said content will be merely be removed and the user will be warned. Multiple offenses may result in a user being banned.
